HIPAA is short for the Health Insurance Privacy and Accountability Act of 1996. The Act stipulates the confidentiality of medical data. More precisely the law defines patient’s privacy right and security regulations regarding protected health information. The covered entity is required to comply with law and to train the employees. HIPAA training is a structured learning method where an instructor presents the compliance regulations. The classroom training is followed with an evaluation and a certificate is awarded. The certificate may be based on the test scores or a certificate of attendance may be presented.

This is not the only method of HIPAA training. There are online course that may be completed in a short time. Whether you decide on online courses or instructor led classes depends on the size of your staff. A small practice may need to just cover the basics and doesn’t have many people to train. So, the online method is more cost-effective. Large organizations have many people to train and more complex administrative and electronic medical records security issues. In this case, group training is a better option.

People apprehensive about testosterone injections side effects, should realize that many of these side-effects are just initial symptoms that slowly disappear. Even when suffering from testosterone injections side effects, muscles tend to gain from the anabolic activities and raised energy levels that are induced by higher testosterone levels.

Knowing about some of the common side-effects will help first-time users understand what to expect when starting a testosterone supplementation regime.

Allergic Reactions

Allergic Reactions are among the most common of side-effects arising from testosterone injections. This includes skin rashes in the form of hives that surface as small skin patches that are reddish and tend to itch. This might be accompanied by some degree of vomiting or nausea.

Bleeding

The injection site might suffer from some degree of bleeding, swelling or skin irritation. However, most of these problems tend to dissipate without the need to take any additional medication. Testosterone Injections can alter the effect of other meds. Certain drugs are known to react with free testosterone that is released into the bloodstream via testosterone injections. Having a meeting with your physician, wherein the drugs or medications you are currently using are discussed, can resolve such issues.

Muscles

Even during the more serious testosterone injections side effects, muscles of the user tend to get bigger as their rate of repair is raised due to supplementation.

Prostate Enlargement

Examples of serious problems due to testosterone injections include prostate enlargement that is usually seen among men who have a history of prostrate problems.

Best New Video Games of 2011

If you ask ten gamers what the best new video games of 2011 are, you’ll probably get ten entirely different lists. There’s so much variety in video games these days that you could play video games your whole life and never play the same set of games as another gamer. There are games for young players, games aimed at girls, games for older gamers, exercise games, simulation games, and everything in between.

Here are the best new video games of 2011 according to sales numbers at GameStop.

5. Madden NFL 2012

The always popular Madden football franchise is always a best seller, and the 2012 edition is no disappointment. Mostly small visual changes to the game have made the experience even more realistic.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

GameStop is moving this game faster than you can say “Hyrule.” The Legend of Zelda has been a hit franchise since my early days as a gamer, back in the early 90s. Skyward Sword is the first major variation of Zelda gameplay in years, using motion capture technology and a new swordfighting interface to totally change the world of Zelda.

3. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Use your printable GameStop coupons to buy the latest edition of Call of Duty and save a ton of cash on the most popular game franchise in recent years. This is the sequel to multiple game of the year winner Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Expect to waste hours of otherwise productive time blasting your enemies in the latest Call of Duty game.

2. Gears of War 3

The conclusion to the best-selling Gears of War series doesn’t even ship for a few more weeks and it is already one of the best-selling games of the year. Gears of War is a ridiculously popular game franchise, consisting of three video games, a major motion picture coming out this year, and even a series of New York Times best-selling novels.

1. Battlefield 3 Limited Edition

Limited-edition video games have been popular in Japan for decades, but they’re just now catching on in America, This limited edition of Battlefield 3, another GameStop best seller that hasn’t even hit the market yet, comes with special game maps and other features on top of the regular game play. Battlefield 3 relies on a cutting-edge gaming engine to improve the gaming experience even more.

The fact that two of these GameStop best sellers haven’t even been released yet tells you something about the video game market. There’s plenty of money to be made producing video games.

Luc Besson is a French writer/director/producer, and he’s been responsible for some of the most memorable action flicks of the last few decades. In case you’re unfamiliar with his work, I decided to put together a list of some of his essential films. The next time you’re browsing through Netflix, add a few of these to your queue.

It should be noted that Besson did not direct all of these films. With some, he only served as the producer. However, he still managed to leave his distinctive mark.

Suggested Films from Luc Besson

Nikita (1990) – Anne Parillaud stars as a criminal who’s sentenced to death but then enrolled in secret government training to become an assassin. One of the many cult classic movies from Luc Besson. Later remade in the United States as Point of No Return.

Leon (1994) – Jean Reno stars as Leon, a lonely hitman in New York who bonds with a 12-year-old girl (Natalie Portman) after her family is slaughtered by a group of corrupt cops (led by Gary Oldman). Also known as The Professional.

The Fifth Element (1997) – Bruce Willis takes the lead role in this lavish and thoroughly original sci-fi film about an ex-soldier forced out of retirement to help an alien (Milla Jovovich) save Earth.

Taxi (1998) – Incredibly popular in France, the film revolves around an aspiring race car driver (Samy Naceri) who teams up with a cop to track down a gang of German bank robbers.

Taxi 2 (2000) – Daniel, out lead-footed hero, is once again called upon to save the day. This time, a Japanese officer and a cop’s girlfriend are the ones in peril. More film would follow in the series.

Kiss of the Dragon (2001) – Jet Li is a Chinese intelligence officer who goes to Paris and winds up being framed by a corrupt cop. He also befriend a prostitute (Bridgette Fonda) who’s trying to start a new life with her daughter. Great fight sequences.

The Transporter (2002) – Jason Statham will transport anything for a price. But when he breaks his own rules and looks inside one of his packages, that’s when things get complicated. Two sequels would follow.

District 13 (2004) – A cop and a con must team up in the French action flick set inside the walled-off ghettos of a futuristic Paris. If you’re a fan of parkour, then don’t miss this one.

Unleashed (2005) – Jet Li is a man who’s been treated like a dog his whole life. When he’s not fighting in illegal bloodsports, he’s kept caged up by his “owner” (Bob Hoskins). All that changes when he winds up in the care of a blind piano tuner (Morgan Freeman) and his adopted daughter.

Even though there are no spaghetti westerns on the list (I’m a huge fan), I still love the works of Luc Besson. You can always count on non-stop action, lots of hot women, and a rockin’ soundtrack. What more could you ask for in an action movie?

NFL Football Analysis

You might not take me for a fantasy football fan. I wasn’t always, but my distinctly working class brother-in-law got me into the hobby. He wanted to challenge me with something I “wasn’t a natural at”. What he didn’t bank on was that I love statistics, and fantasy football is a game of statistics. My brother-by-marriage created a monster.

The 2011-2012 fantasy football top picks are Arian Foster, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice, and Lesean McCoy. Since these are your best decisions in the Top 6 positions in the draft, I wanted to discuss each and give you my opinions.

Arian Foster – 2011 Fantasy Football Top Pick

Any time a running back has the number of carries and combined touches Arian Foster did in 2010, you have to be a little leery of that player the next year. Look what happened with Chris Johnson in 2010: he was good, but not the player he was in 2009. The same thing could happen to Foster.

On the flip side, Foster is one a better offense than Chris Johnson was and he’s running behind a better offensive line. And with Matt Schaub throwing the ball and Andre Johnson soaking up defenders in the passing game, Arian Foster is surrounded by a better skill position cast. The two touchdowns in a little over a quarter of the 2nd preseason game was enough to remind me of ’10.

Adrian Peterson – Top Pick in 2011

Adrian Peterson is seen as the “safe pick” among the Top 3 in 2011, but is he? Donovan McNabb is in town, and a 30-something McNabb is probably better than a 40 year old Brett Favre. Sidney Rice has departed for Seattle, while Percy Harvin is expected to step up as the #1 WR in Minnesota. So the offensive cast may be depleted, but the quarterback might be more efficient. This is a wash. The defense should take a hit, as the Williams brothers didn’t get good news when the collective bargaining agreement didn’t settle their longstanding court case with the NFL and Ray Edwards left for the Falcons in free agency.

The real question is whether Peterson stands up to the pounding. As a big back who runs upright and takes a lot of hits, it’s only a matter of time before Peterson suffers some kind of injury on the ballfield. Peterson came into the league with injury questions, yet they’ve never surfaced. Unlike Ladainian Tomlinson and Barry Sanders, the two “Best in the NFL” before him, Adrian Peterson doesn’t avoid contact. That’s bound to catch up eventually.

Chris Johnson – #3 Pick in 2011-12

I don’t know that I would spend the #3 pick in the draft on on Chris Johnson this year. I’m a big fan of Chris Johnson. I drafted him with my usual foresight in his breakout 2009 year and have followed the man closely since. But there’s a catch this year.

His contact holdout puts the cohesion of the offense in jeopardy, but it does something more: it could put him at injury risk. You’ll find a long history of players who held out of camp, then got injured once they returned to action without the rigors of camp to get them ready for the season. Put that together with the heaviest workload in the NFL over the past two seasons and Chris Johnson is an injury waiting to happen.

Jamaal Charles – 1st Rounder in 2011

Jamaal Charles has ascended into the high first round for the first time. Also for the first time, he’s the declared #1 running back in Kansas City. When he’s been on the field for long stretches in 2009 and 2010, Jamaal Charles has been one of the most productive backs in the NFL. Now Charles gets his chance to shine. With Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster able to spell him, but not challenge for real carries, Jamaal Charles should be in perfect position to be worth a Top 5 pick.

Ray Rice – Flying Under the Radar

No one has flown under the radar more than Ray Rice these past couple of seasons. Rice is one of the top backs on one of the top teams in the NFL, but he’s largely anonymous outside of Baltimore and outside of fantasy football draft rooms. Even at that, Ray Rice as seen as a nice #5 runner, but not really the top guy in the league.

It’s my contention that, if you’re good enough to be the #5 guy in fantasy football, you’re good enough to be #1. Everything just has to come together. The 2010 season for Ray Rice might be skewed by the fact he was injured much of the season with nagging injuries. Fully healthy in 2011-2012, Ray Rice could become a Top 3 back.

LeSean McCoy – Top Fantasy Football Pick

LeSean McCoy was a Top 3 back in many scoring systems in 2010. In more than one league I was in, McCoy was the 3rd round selection who performed like a first rounder and helped a team win a league title. Still, he’s sitting at the 5th or 6th spot on most draft boards. I saw him slide into the 12th spot in one draft (full of knuckleheads, I’ll admit).

McCoy is in a top offense. He’s coming into his third year. Lesean McCoy has everything to help him become a top pick in fantasy football. Some worry that a Michael Vick injury could jeopardize everything with the Eagles, having traded their quarterback depth. But that might not affect McCoy as much as it would Jackson or Maclin. Draft Lesean McCoy without qualms, then draft his backup (Ronnie Brown) in the mid-to-late rounds.

Alaska is truly an outdoor paradise. Encompassing an area greater than half the size of “Lower 48”, it contains extraordinary beauty. From glaciers to wildlife refuges, from tundra to fjords, Alaska is a land full of variety, ruggedness and freedom. Finding inexpensive housing in such a paradise is actually not as hard as one would think. A comparison between the few biggest cities versus the smaller towns nearby offers a good overview on where to find the best housing.

Main cities

Alaska has only a few “major” cities that contain the majority of the state’s population. Juneau, located in the southeast part of the state, is the capitol city, although it is not the largest. Anchorage holds that distinction with nearly 500,000 people, which is nearly 50% of the entire state’s population. Both of these cities attract a lot of people because of location, climate and conveniences. These three features combine to produce a fairly high cost of living. Fairbanks is located farther north and is also considered one of Alaska’s major cities due to a higher population. However, Fairbanks has a less forgiving climate than the other two, especially in winter, and is therefore comparatively less expensive.

Smaller towns

There are three keys to finding inexpensive housing in Alaska while still enjoying all that it has to offer. Ignoring the places most people go, which include the bigger cities; being willing to travel just a bit further; and not being afraid of the remoteness. For example, the Kenai Peninsula is a hotspot for prospective homeowners. Instead of looking for housing directly in the Kenai area, simply going a few more miles to say, Soldotna, or Homer, gives you all the benefits of the extraordinary fishing and outdoor “experience”, while costing significantly less. Kodiak, located on Kodiak Island, is another town that has a moderate climate, is surrounded by gorgeous views, and yet has the convenience of a Wal-Mart and less than 20,000 people. You simply have to take a 9-hour-long ferry ride from Homer to get there, or fly in. Sitka, located in the southeast, is similar to Juneau in climate and location, but costs significantly less because it is not the “capitol city” and it has a smaller population.

Keep it simple, stay away from the bigger cities and think outside the box. Alaska has a lot to offer without the need to pay a lot for it. You can find more information about the cheapest homes in America here, and also about the cheapest homes in Alaska here. Important information about the annual cost of housing can be found here.

Perimenopause refers to the period that leads up to the real onset of menopause in between women. Perimenopause is truly a normal transition period in between women and it generally happens right after the age of 42-to-45. During this phase, several easy female reproductive and sexual hormones like estrogen and progesterone levels increasingly dip.

The duration of Perimenopause in between most women is in between five and ten years. However, some hormones like FSH tend to rise as menopause approaches. This is simply because the pituitary gland strives tough to revive the ovaries inside the absence of ample progesterone and estrogen. Decoding FSH levels Perimenopause is rather tough and even the issues caused by it, including infertility or irregular menstruation, are very hard-to-diagnose. This is simply because some level of FSH decrease is rather expected.

However, after the FSH levels rise exponentially and menopause approaches fast, FSH level Perimenopause is very likely to bring about infertility and make it virtually impossible for such woman to conceive. The only way to resolve FSH level Perimenopause issues is to seek supplementary hormonal treatment wherein other female hormones like progesterone or estrogen are prescribed. The gradual enhance inside the concentration of such hormones in turn helps to limit the amount of FSH and thus, neutralize the anti-fertility affects of Perimenopause apart from slowing down the entire progress, i.e. the progression to the menopause is impaired.

A lot of people are finding themselves stressed out because of their credit card debts. Unfortunately, many people do not realize how damaging stress can be to person emotionally and physically. Stress is also known to negatively affect a person’s quality of life.

How Do You Know That You Are Stressed?

When you are stressed, your body responds to the stress accordingly; it responds as if you are in danger. You will know because your heart rate increases, you’ll breathe faster, you’ll feel sweat come, and at times your palms and skin will feel cold and clammy. This happens because your hormones speed up your heart, thus the increased heart rate.

Stress occurs when a person feels he has to handle more than he’s used to.

Why Is Stress Unhealthy?

When stress happens too often or when it last for too long, stress can have a negative and unhealthy effect on a person. It can cause the following medical conditions: back pain, headaches, an upset stomach, and often, sleeping problems. Stress also weakens the body’s immune system, which results in the body being easily susceptible to illnesses and diseases. Making matters worst, if a person already has a medical or health problem, stress can worsen it.

Stress is also known to adversely affect relationships because it makes a person tense, moody, and depressed. This may also affect work quality in the office or in school.

What’s the Next Step?

The best thing to do, therefore, is to resolve the concern that’s causing the stress. If it’s credit card debt, then the best way is to find a solution to the debt problem.

Credit Cards

Begin by understanding that credit cards are not bad as they are. In fact, those who know how to use credit cards to their advantage see them as solutions to financial problems rather than the opposite.

If you have mounting credit card debts, there are numerous ways of dealing with them. Begin by looking into your personal credit history. What happened? Where did you go wrong? Was it your spending habits? Maybe you’re not earning enough and you use your credit card to “make ends meet”. Analyze how you manage your finances. Look into your income and expense and see if you are earning enough. Then, come up with a financial management plan. Begin with a budget; allocate your resources wisely. Pay off your debt; do some research on the snowball method of paying off debt. Lastly, begin to put your financial life in order. Spend less that what you’re earning.

Stress can be managed; and all problems have solutions. It’s just a matter of identifying what the root problem is, finding the best solution, and then doing it!

Remember, the quality of your life, and your health, is largely dependent on how you deal with life’s challenges!

Manage your stress; don’t let it manage you!

When you have bad credit, it can seem like everything you do requires a credit check. When your credit is good, you don’t notice how often a company runs your credit. Opening an account with a utility company and even taking out a library card in some areas requires a credit check these days. What’s the secret to a life without credit checks?

The answer is simple–you have to work a little harder to get the things you want. Believe it or not you can rent a car without a credit check, lease a home with no credit check, and even get loans for things like boats and new cars without a check of your credit score.

Companies use a credit check to insure their investment in you. If you can’t prove your credit worthiness, a creditor expects that you’re a bad investment for their company, and is likely to turn you down for your line of credit request. This is true for credit cards, car loans, student loans, and any situation where you’re taking out a line of credit.

Making purchases without a credit check is as common as free bill pay these days. When the economy suffers, businesses look for ways to offer poor-credit customers their services without a credit check. The trade-off is that you usually pay more interest, a larger down payment, or pay some other financial consequence in exchange for leaving your credit score unchecked. For example, buying a house without a credit check requires a much larger down payment than with a more traditional mortgage based on a check of your credit history.

Building credit takes time, and you’ll spend years on your journey to living debt free. Since you need stuff in the mean time, do your homework and spend a little bit of sweat equity to buy the things you need without the need for a check of your credit score. If you take the right steps, you can buy a car, start a business, lease an apartment, and buy car insurance all without the necessity of an embarrassing and credit-harmful credit score check.

I was recently lucky enough to get a job interview with a Fortune 500 company. To save that company a ton of embarrassment, and to prevent me from getting sued or something, we’ll call it Company X. The payscale was great and I was excited about my potential new job.

Unbeknownst to this job candidate, the HR department at Company X apparently forget everything they ever learned about how to interview someone. I believe I was a participant in [scary music and thunder clap] the worst job interview in history.

The first sign that something was amiss was the fact that no one in the building knew I’d be there. From the guy guarding the parking garage to the honcho who eventually interviewed me, I was constantly reminded that no one expected me. The only problem was that I’d been headhunted for the job and had even spoken to not one but two assistants about my pending arrival three days before I got to town. Weird, right?

Then there was the interview itself. It may as well have been a clinic in illegal questions to ask in a job interview. Comments were made about my weight (including “We have a company gym you know”) and I was asked for my nationality. I’m assuming my dark tan makes me a terrorist. The interviewer even asked me personal questions about my wife and shared details of his marriage bed that no mortal human wants to hear from a 400 pound computer nerd.

I walked away with a bad taste in my mouth but a new goal–to never give an interview or work for a company that would give such an interview in my life. A company’s pre-hire screening and interview process is symptomatic of the company as a whole. I certainly wouldn’t invest cash in this company, much less choose to work there.

If you’re new to job interviewing or want to change the way your company deals with new hires, take the above example as a worst-case scenario. There are plenty of ways to screw up a job interview, not all of them so horrible as the ones I faced, but all a black mark on the face of any company.
